Nutrition for fun is a place for nutrition and exercise information. We call it “for fun” because we feel that anything worth learning should be something you enjoy researching.
Over the past decades nutrition & exercise websites, supplements and “professionals” have popped up everywhere. The biggest problem with this is that you never really know if you are getting the correct information or not. With so many gimmicks, MLM marketing businesses and people wanting to be popular on the Internet, it can be hard to know if you are getting all the right information.
There are a lot of great valid resources out there, but you have to know where to find them. Chances are if you are being talked to by a company that sells supplements or someone promoting their MLM marketing business, it is probably not 100% on the up-and-up. Of course people lose weight on different fad diets but here is something to think about. If all these diet fads worked then wouldn’t everyone be doing it and have a clean bill of health and not fluctuate in weight? Wouldn’t our obesity numbers be down instead of constantly increasing? Would the FDA have to keep constantly pulling items off the shelf and require the companies to reformulate their supplements if everything was safe? These are the obstacles that nutritionists and other medical professionals combat every day.
The number one way to lose weight, maintain weight, or even gain weight (the healthy way) is to watch your calories in and your calories out. There is no schemes to this and not a miracle supplement to do this for you. It is all about education and discipline. Most people just have to create better habits. The number one way to stop a bad habit is to get some education. This doesn’t mean you have to go college and get a nutrition degree. This just means you need to do some valid research and find out what all these important daily essentials do for you and your body. This website is simply created to educate whomever decides to read it on the body’s nutrition and exercise needs. Everyone is different so not everyone will benefit from the exact same plan. This website is solely intended to give people ideas on the average healthy adult. It is in no way shape or form here to be your medical doctor. Please consult a medical doctor every time you decide to change your diet or exercise program. We are here to break down the nutrients and exercise into simpler forms for understanding.
So what makes us reputable? I hope you were asking this while reading the prior. If not you should be every time you read something that wants to help you learn something.
We have a BS in Exercise Science and MS in Human Nutrition. We are professors and teachers that write curriculum and teach this to students both inside and outside of a brick-and-mortar classroom setting. We also try very hard to keep up on the latest scientific research and we do this through medical journals and valid websites and groups we are members of. We do not use forums, social media or our own opinions when we display the facts. We will always say this is our opinion” when we have one. We do have some opinions, of course, because after many years of teaching and working in these fields we have learned a thing or two. We will always cite our sources where you can find them easily. This way you can see where we are getting our information from.
We are not sure how frequently we will update this website. This is being done as a free service to our fabulous readers. We have full-time jobs and we will post as we see fit or have time for. Our whole goal is to help our readers understand more about nutrition and exercise. We are not here to sway you in any way.
If there is any specific question you may have that we have not covered yet, please use our contact form to send them our way. We will try our best to reply in a timely manner. However, depending on the amount of research needed it could take some time.
You may wonder why we will have some ads running on our page. Well, we do have to pay for our website and want to keep our services for free. The advertisements you see will help us do that.
Happy learning!
